Umair is one of the founding partners at AGT Partners LLP. Umair is an accomplished professional who gained a broad base of assurance and business advisory experience over the years.  Umair studied at York University and graduated with a Bachelor of Administrative Studies, Specialized Honours in Accounting. Umair obtained his CPA, CA designation while articling at BDO Canada LLP. Furthermore, Umair has over 12 years of experience and in-depth knowledge of technical accounting, auditing, cash flow projections, and public company filings requirements. Umair has also worked at small and mid-size accounting firms and helped numerous clients meet their accounting and tax needs through effective tax planning.

Currently, Umair is part time practice inspector with Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario where he conducts reviews of assurance and compilations engagement files for both private and public companies and assess the quality controls of CPA firms across Ontario.

Umair has spoken at various conferences and seminars over the years, including:  Best Practices and Lessons Learned for MD&A and at IFRS 16 – Leases: Pros and Cons of the Final Leasing Standard. Umair serves as Treasurer on the board of York Region Common Elements Condominium Corporation, and also acts as Secretary of the York District Chartered Professional Accountants Association.

Kamal is one of the founding partners of AGT Partners LLP, and an active member of CPA Ontario and CPA Alberta. Kamal has more than 12 years of extensive experience in the field of taxation, accounting and audit. He brings along with him dynamism and fresh ideas to the firm. He works with both individuals and businesses through start-up, growth and transition phases with strategic advice and proactive services to facilitate the success.

Kamal was one of the top performers in CGA program of Professional Studies and was granted “The Top Ten Recognition Award” in recognition of his outstanding performance by Certified General Accountants Association of Canada. Kamal’s industry experience includes construction, manufacturing, investments, automotive and not-for- profit. While working for several public accounting firms, Kamal has gained in-depth knowledge in personal and corporate tax planning including corporate reorganization and estate planning. A CRA audit is often a stressful process for individuals and business owners. Kamal assists his clients throughout the entire CRA income tax audit process. His clients know he puts their needs first, and he is always available to them.

Kamal is actively involved in community affairs and serves as a member of board of directors for a local charitable organization. He is always eager to educate clients and build good client relationship.

Safdar has a passion to assist entrepreneurs to make more effective commitments of time, energy and money at a larger and more efficient scale.

With over 12 years of experience in financial analysis, auditing, financial statement preparation, tax preparation, entrepreneurship, management, and business planning, Safdar has the breadth and depth of experience needed to quickly understand businesses and craft the most suitable solutions.  From these solutions he will most effectively create a tax plan to maximize the financial situation of both businesses and personal tax situations. His practice thrived with a client base from a wide cross-section of industries with a specialty in the issues of small business owners. He facilitated many taxpayers in developing a sound strategy to manage the CRA audit process, negotiate with the CRA to ensure fair and clear process, avoid potential interest and penalties and secure a more favorable outcome.

Safdar volunteers for community and social activities and serves as a member of board of directors for a national not for profit organization.
